| Best - Yeovil Town 3 United 2 - FA Trophy 4th Round. United who were 3 leagues below non league giants Yeovil go two goals down to Yeovil in the first 20 minutes but come back magnificently to level the scores by half time. For a while in the 2nd half it looked like a shock result could be on the cards, but a late winner from Yeovil ended Uniteds dreams however over 300 fans travelled back up the M5 dissapointed by the result but proud of the teams magnificent performance | |

| Best - Aston Villa 4 Manchester United 4 - Season 1955/56. Villa bottom of the league take on the all conquering Busby Babes and in a fantastic finale come from behind to level the scores near the end (I still have the programme from this game) | |
| Worst - Leicester City 6 Villa 3. Villa 3 up in the first half hour, think they have done enough to win the game but Leicester had different ideas and slaughtered Villa with 4 or 5 second half goals | |

| With the new stadium nearing completion and the interest in the United that this is projecting hopefully this will incease the pathetic support that the United get for a town our size and enable the team to progress to the top Conference league and maintain this status, also a few good FA cup and Trophy runs (even Winning the Trophy perhaps) | |

| As we prepare to move into our magnificent new stadium and the stirling work by the present board to bring this about it should be remembered that back in the late 1960s when no one in Hinckley cared whether the town had a football team or not, it was only the stirling work of a few working class lads that kept the club in existance. Not only did these stalwarts keep the club alive in its darkest period on occasions they even found themselves having to play! On another occasion one present director had to give his weeks wages to the players so they would turn out in a FA Cup match. I can name a few of these heroes - G Farmer, M Mason, R Davies, D Gillingham, K Saunders, R Holtam and later R Lord and D loakes(apologies for any I can't remember or have missed out) Remember without the efforts of these individuals there would have been no Middlefield Lane to sell to fund the new Marstons Stadium | |
