what, from here?

How many years supporting Hinckley?
about 35 years in the flesh, with Athletic

Favourite League Football Team?
Leicester, and Rayo Vallecano over here (3rd Madrid team who went down this year, and are now near the bottom of the 2nd.)

Favourite Hinckley Footballer, Past and Present?
Past - God knows, but does anyone remember that forward called Frank or something that only had 1 and a half feet? I'll rephrase that, he had one good foot, I assume the one he kicked with, and apparently only half the other? Back at the beginning of the 70's that would be. Scored one of the best goals I have seen Hinckley score. Away at Lye Town a breakaway on the right, Frank(?) in the middle, cross came over and he put a running header, from OUTSIDE the area, past the goalkeeper.
Present - Stuart Storer, seeing as I know who he is.

Favourite League Footballer, Past and Present?
Past - A lot, but do you remember the Leicester player we all took the p*ss out of, Alan Woollett? Nobody ever knew why he played for Leicester, and the goal in the FA cup final was his fault, not putting the ball out for a corner. Not exactly my favourite, but memorable.
Present - Used to be Fernando Hierro Real Madrid's central defender, during the nineties probably the best in the world in that position, but he is past it now. Probably Raul who is Spain's favourite as well, as he personifies the spirit of any team he plays for.

Best and Worst Non-League ground visited?
Best - We are talking ancient history now, but the Borough's wasn't bad
(DJ Note - Nuneaton I presume?)
Worst - Darlaston, again ancient history, but wasn't that the one where the bottom of the goalposts of one end were higher (in feet above sealevel) than the crossbar at the other? Slope wasn't the word.

Best and Worst League ground visited?
Best - Anfield, Liverpool
Worst - Barnsley's Shed

Best and Worst Hinckley game attented, and why?
Best - A couple of seasons ago we (Atho') played Barwell, won 3-0 I think, but what was good was the gate of over 500. If my memory serves me correctly. Great to see so many in the ground. And my father attending his first and only Hinckley game and being very impressed with the standard of football.
Worst - Hinckley v Tamworth early 70's. Typical year, Tamworth league leaders, us at the bottom. Incredibly playing well and winning 1-0 when a Tamworth forward kicks the ball out of our goalkeepers hands (both hands on the ball), scores the goal and it is allowed. I've seen Hinckley play some dour matches in my time, but that was injustice!

Best and Worst League game attented, and why?
Best - Leicester v Manchester City 1968? won 4-3, after going 2-0 down. Very first match I saw at Leicester, and every one around me in the Kop saying how they had been going to Filbert St. for years to see a match like that.
Worst - Well, not league game, the 1969 Cup Final, and I didn't actually attend, sold my ten bob ticket for a fiver to a friend's father. Thank God. Worst cup final in history I have to say, and that even if we had won.

Any other sporting interests?
Virtually anything that's called a game or sport, except swimming.

Hinckley United Wishlist (realistically!)
The new stadium brings with it better attendance.
